World Rotaract Week Official Recognition

Celebrate 40 Years of Rotaract!

Each year, the week of March 13 (10-16 March 2008) marks World Rotaract Week in commemoration of the first official chartering of a Rotaract Club on 13 March 1968. As 2008 marks the 40th Anniversary of Rotaract, Rotaractors are encouraged to plan something “extra special” to celebrate!

Our own Santa Barbara Rotaractor Liz Werhane Headed off for Italy

Liz Werhane, President of the community–based Rotaract Club of Santa Barbara, was selected as one of 10 Rotaractors from around the world (the only one from the U.S.A.) to participate in “
Northwest Italy Rotaract Roundtrip” in March 2008.  Rotaract Roundtrip is sponsored every year by Italian Rotaract District 2030.

Successful applicants for the Rotaract Roundtrip event took part in a gorgeous tour of Italy starting from Novara and then going through San Remo, Genova, Alba, Casale Monferrato, Montecarlo, Torino, Biella and Stresa, before turning back to Novara again. In all the towns visited, members from local Rotaract Clubs were both "guides" and "hosts". Visiting Rotaractors traveled with Italian Rotaractors on reserved transportation. THE TRIP WAS COMPLETELY FREE FOR ALL GUESTS.  The only expenses was for air transportation to Milan "Linate" or to Milan "Malpensa" airport, where guests were picked up by host Rotaractors. Most of Liz's expenses were reimbursed by the clubs of Group 8.

Liz. had great time in Italy and presented and outstanding Powerpoint Presentation to many Group 8 Clubs upon her return.
