A Message from the Club President

Greetings:

Welcome to the website of the Rotary Club of Goleta Noontime!  I am honored to serve as the President of the Rotary Club of Goleta Noontime for the year 2007-2008.  Our members believe in the Family of Rotary and how “Rotary Shares”.  We meet every Tuesday at 11:44 am at the Elephant Bar restaurant inGoleta.

During my presidency we will celebrate our club’s 20^th year.  We were chartered on December 8, 1987.  We are proud to say that we were the first chartered club our district to have chartered women members.  We will celebrate this milestone with a Roaring 20^th Celebration on December 8, 2007.  Please join us for this festive party at the Page Youth Center.  For details, please email us.

We are excited to participate in the 2008 Los Angeles Rotary International Conference June of 2008.  Rotary International is expecting over 40,000 attendees.

Our club is very active with our annual fundraisers, events, projects and giving.  Some to the activities we are involved in usually include:

• The 4^th of July Goleta Fireworks Festival
• Goleta Teen of the Year Community Service Award Program
• Participation in the local Lemon Festival
• Sponsor of the annual 10k and 5k Goleta Fun Run
• The annual Holiday Decoration Contest
• Los Prietos Scholarship Awards
• Graffiti Removal Project
• Current sponsor and host of Rotary Youth Exchange Student
• Current sponsor of a World Peace Scholar
• Sponsor of Dos Pueblos High School Interact Club
• Goleta Depot Rotary Day with free train rides
• Current sponsor of an Ambassadorial Scholar
• Career Day and Vocational Week at the local high school(s) and junior high school
• Water Projects
• Paul Harris Awards

We are a close fun loving group.  You might find us on a Wine tasting adventure, out on a Movie Night, having a Pot Luck, building a float for our local Fiesta Days Parade, taking a bus down to Pasadena to decorate the Rotary’s Rose Bowl Parade Float, etc.  Then again, we could be hanging off a wall removing graffiti, mentoring young people, collecting books or shoes to send to children in need.  Rest assured, whatever we are doing, we are having fun doing it.
